Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 can (15 oz) Sloppy Joe sauce
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
1 cup queso cheese sauce
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ small onion, finely diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and ground beef. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Season the beef with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and arrange the frozen tater tots in an even layer.
Spoon the Sloppy Joe beef mixture evenly over the tater tots.
Drizzle the queso cheese sauce over the beef, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tots are golden and crispy.Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
For extra crispy tater tots, avoid covering the casserole while baking. You can also add a little extra cheddar cheese during the last few minutes of baking for an even cheesier topping.
